DESCRIPTION:  On June 28th\, Tamar Adler\, bestselling author of An Everlasting Meal: Cooking with Economy and Grace\, will prepare a dinner in honor of the gracious\, witty\, culinary observer Mary Francis Kennedy Fisher.  Celebrate the paperback release of An Everlasting Meal as Tamar goes back into the kitchen to prepare an MFK Fisher-inspired feast.  Tamar will create a menu that draws from Fisher's whole body of work\, weaving through her time in Dijon\, France\, to windswept visits to a house on high California bluffs\, to the careful copying of a dessert she describes thus: "never was there a dessert more delicate\, more fragrant\, more sophisticated and naive..."  Join us at Bubby's June 28th at 7:00p.m. for this wonderful meal.  Tickets are $70 and include snacks\, dinner\, dessert\, wine and beer\, and of course\, Tamar's own gracious\, witty\, culinary and other observations. DESCRIPTION:This February\, Bubby's pays homage to the African American influence on the food we serve at Bubby's. They will also feature recipes from “What Mrs Fisher Knows about Old Southern Cooking”\, the first African American cookbook\, which was written by Abby Fisher\, a freed slave who lived in San Francisco.    Cooking greens with meat\, sweet potatoes (yams)\, peanuts\, fried chicken\, beans and rice\, or cornbread came directly from West Africa or were adapted by West Africans in early America: watermelon\, okra\, sesame\, black eyed peas… all will be highlighted. .    Join Bubby’s for some tasty Hoppin’ John\, Sweet Potato Hash with House Cured Country Ham & Red Eye Gravy\, Shrimp and Grits\, Collard Greens with Ham Hocks & Pot Likker and Corn Pone\, and a Lafayette-Style Dark Gumbo as well as stuff we cook all the time\, like Fried Chicken\, Black Eyed Peas\, Fried Okra\, and a many of our regular menu that would not be here but for these powerful influences. Come help us celebrate the African roots of our food during Black History month.

SUMMARY:Thanksgiving at Bubby's
DESCRIPTION:Bubby’s Tribeca will be open for Thanksgiving\, serving brunch from 9 til 1pm\, and dinner from 3pm to Midnight on Thursday November 24th. Guests will set their own price for dinner with a generous portion of the proceeds going to the New York City Rescue Mission\, the oldest homeless shelter in America\, and a Tribeca neighbor\, providing help to people in crisis since 1872.    Dinner will be served buffet style. It will be the traditional American feast with all the trimmings featuring free roaming turkeys from Snow Dance Farm in Sullivan County\, NY and Berkshire hams that have been cured by Bubby’s themselves. Some sides will include green bean and mushroom casserole\, roasted brussel sprouts\, candied sweet potatoes with homemade marshmallows\, mashed potatoes and giblet gravy\, cranberry sauce\, cornbread stuffing and of course a big selection of Bubby’s pies.    The Thanksgiving holiday marks Bubby’s 21th anniversary and for Chef/Owner Ron Silver\, opening to the public seems a fitting way to celebrate. “Bubby’s is a family place\, and Thanksgiving is a day to be with family. We hope that we can serve up a great family style meal that will feel like home and at the same time raise money to give back to those in need.”    Reservations for dinner are encouraged and can be made by calling the restaurant at 212.219.0666.
