Eat cake! Eat pie!
Sourdough from Klondike Alaska, 1890

February 10, 2010

Recently a group of artists, The Pancake Placement Group, contacted Bubby’s
to ask if we would be interested in helping them with an art project using
their Yukon Goldrush sourdough culture, the lineage of which can be traced
all the way back to the Klondike.  Of course, we said yes just for the super
novelty of it.  But when we got the sourdough starter from them and made
pancakes with it, the results were almost unbelievable they were so good.
Chef Ron grew up eating sourdough pancakes, and this starter was better (if
that’s possible) than the one he grew up with. Now we are trying all kinds
of things with it, including sourdough biscuits. Come and try them…
