Bubby's Story: Tribeca
Bubby’s Pie Co., has been serving home cooking in Tribeca since 1990. The food is reflected in the homey atmosphere and service. The neighborhood has changed a lot, but Bubby’s has stayed pretty much the way it was, though it would be difficult to make it in Tribeca with only two tables
Bubby’s is famous for brunch. Everything is made from scratch. We smoke our own salmon and make our own ice cream. And if we don’t make it, it’s because we can’t make it better than we can find. If there were a proper space for a real bread oven, Bubby’s would bake all the bread. Instead, fine bakeries, like Sullivan Street, Tomcat, and H&H provide our bread, as well as some small specialty bread bakeries.
We have had many exceptional people visit Bubby’s. We don’t drop their names, for the most part. It is not homey to report to Rupert Murdoch what someone had for breakfast. Still, it is amazing to know the people who have come in to Bubby’s since it opened. We try to go by first names, so I will mention Bob, Harvey, JohnJohn, Isabella, Hillary, Bill, Billy, John, Elvis, Bernie, Eliot, Mike, Chuck, JLo, Ben, Brad, Gwyn, Lou, Laurie, Roberta, Johnny, Gina, Spike, Kevin, AnthonyMichael, and Michael.
We are open seven days a week, serving brunch Saturday and Sunday and most Monday Holidays (since it’s our favorite meal!).
