Florence Fabricant of the New York Times features Bubby’s Apple Whiskey Crumble Pie in this Wednesday’s Dining Out section.

"Almost all the autumn and winter pies in this book could find their way onto my Thanksgiving table.But I wanted one filled with fruit that was easy, and could be made in advance. I tried the whiskey-apple crumble pie, for which the apple slices are sautéed before they are put into the crust and baked, a technique that I have been using for a few years. The requirement that the apples be tart is one to be taken seriously, so the filling will stand up to the sweet crumble topping."
